KattyWompus - Blind Faith

Your Pain:
,This tune starts off with a big drop into a real blast of a riff the production of the album from the get go is superb, Chris(the duranimals) voice kicks in you got bits of hetfield going on in there, its a big bastard sound Craig Boom pushing the Z. wylde deep harmonics off the bottom end of the guitar, your instantly moshing to this one. "I dont want to be the one to blame for your pain "oof thats a punch right in the title belt. The middle eight winds off down the dusty roads of Sacremento CA, and Craigs huge fuck off guitar solo rips right out of the ground and heads off to the stars must of dug deep for that one. Excellent opener.

Flesh Junky:
Big old Ziggy bass line a bit RATM at first, then the reverse guitars take the song somewhere else. This tune got a real menacing claustrophobic vibe. Outside at night in the desert for this one, coz this tune will cook you in the house. They do this shit better than Metallica all day long. The drumming in this song is relentless building and filling ,huge soaring vocals, one sexy mofo grinding tune, another wicked solo reaching the heights, big door slamming chugging riffs on the guitar loving it.

Before I Fell:
Harmonic guitar to start carries on throughout the song, got a bit of gnr brownstone going on a bit in the rythmn ,its so hard to pin any of this down, got bits of tool in there , chains ,the tune is a mid tempo rocker, a kick in your face Wompus signature tune big stops and chugs ..this one has backing vox ,this is gonna make your neck hurt.

Here I Stand Again:
A spacious sound on this tune Vaiesque beginning, really brooding sound ,then steams into the classic rock riffs of tried and tested rifferage. KattyWompus grabs the vibe of this song easy. Dannyz the drummer gets the feel of this one nailed down. The guitar playing and tones are amazing in this tune.

Blind Faith:
Heres the title track of the album, big distant sound till the riff kicks in bringing it all back in.Chris(the duranimal) getting some frash vox in there, alot of twisting harmonies in there too, then a small break, Whoa another soaring solo this time flavoured with some great wah wah driven guitar, giving Satriani a bit of a kicking too. The drums dannyz got some intricate stuff going on in here well locked in with the Ziggys bass.

Arlington Heights:
KattyWompus drag you out of the desert just in time to give you a real uplifting tune,a great structure to this one too,
Twin guitar tunes massive feedback cutting through ,Chris giving it some power and feel. Dont know where Arlington Heights is but hes definitely been there, seems these guys switch moods and pace through a song with ease ,this is a perfect example of how its done.

You Dont Know Me:
Up go the amps again here come the monster riffs,
Great booming precision bass lines from Ziggy, Dannyz master class in big riff drumming, Chris(Duranimal)twines the vocal straight through the lead fret board ,i think could be a tip of the hat to alice and her chains.

Shine:
Starts with a radio tuning through the songs on the album till it selects this one ..cool idea.Great bombastic drums and riffage Big vocal line "Shine shine and carry on"cool chorus,
Big tricky arrangement before the sonic solo pushed up by Ziggy at the end .A definate contender for a one of the many singles of the album.

Rain:
Big atmospheric song, feels like you could be sitting out on your porch chair ,watching the desert night air lighting up in the distance, "Let it rain down on me rip a hole in the sky say a prayer for you and me "not many bands can give you a sense of visual like the wompus, fucking song just gets bigger too ,this one will blow the roof off. Great lovin it.

What Is Right:
Great drumming from Dannyz got a fair pace to this one ,lots of super riffage again, this band never let up with the guitars pyrotechnics, live this one would do some damage. Bullet drum rolls in this, nice swirling end to this tune.

Till I Die:
With a title like Till I Die ,this one was always gonna kill it, Great groove and smash your face into the speakers. Craig boom seeing if the guitar has anything left to give.Chris makes this shit sound really easy.2.34 All KattyWompus transform again into a might force of speaker demolition ,after that dunno if they should be wearing the designated numbers cause that was one tight knot they slipped easily into. That was the future and it was blinding.

Once Around The Sun:
The seriously epic sound of Once Around The Sun. Great vocal great pace, from Chris(Duranimal)this is an exceptionally structured song, it takes you miles above the earth and right out there, searing hot rythmn guitars and bit of ozzy guitar firing the thrusters, then a relentless push back into orbit, or it could be about getting totally mashed depends how you read it...The final song off a true cracker of an album, ending with the last echoes of a faint tranmission to end.

Good work sirs...Gaz I.O.N
